Adding new products to your redhead skincare routine can be tricky, especially when you have to figure out where they go in the lineup. Here’s the order the skincare professionals say you should apply your products when getting ready in the morning.

Step 1: Cleanser
Wash your face first thing. If using more than one cleanser, always use your oil-based products before using anything water-based. If you’re using an exfoliating cleanser, use your regular cleanser first.
Step 2: Toner
Next comes your toner. Before applying toner, make sure your face has been patted dry. Toner should be applied with a cotton pad or clean hands directly to the face.
Step 3: Serum
After your toner has dried down a bit, it’s time for serums. Facial serums should be applied using the pads of the fingertips and gently patted into the skin.
Step 4: Eye Cream
Once you’ve completed your serums, move on to eye cream. Eye cream should also be applied with the pads of the fingertips and patted gently under and around the eye.
Step 5: Moisturizer
Now it’s time to moisturize the face. Apply your moisturizer all over using the pads of your fingers massaging it in gently. Don’t forget to moisturize your neck!
Step 6: Face Oil
Heavy facial oils should be applied atop your moisturizer. If you have lightweight oils you may want to apply those prior to moisturizer but that is a personal preference.
Step 7: Sunscreen
Now it’s time for your sun protection. Depending on the time of year, or how much time you intend to spend outside, makeup with SPF may be enough but it’s always better to have more protection.
Makeup
Now apply any redhead-approved makeup you plan to wear! If you’re going sans makeup you’re all set and ready for the day.
Rock it like a Redhead!
