The Benefits of Redheads Using a Silicone Body Scrubber

Scrub Off That Sunscreen!

It’s summer, it’s hot and you’re a redhead lathered in sunscreen every single day. When you hop into the shower to wash off, are you getting all that sunscreen off? Sunscreen is great for keeping our skin protected from the sun’s harmful UV rays, but it can also clog pores and cause break outs if not properly washed off. For facial sunscreen, it’s usually pretty easy to wash off with a gentle cleanser or some double cleansing, but for body sunscreen, it might take more than just soap body wash to get it all off.

The next reasonable solution is to use some sort of loofah, but the truth is…they are brimming with bacteria. According to Melissa Piliang, MD in an article on clevelandclinic.org, “When people use a loofah to scrub off dead skin cells, those cells become lodged in those nooks and crannies. And that sets the stage for a bacterial playground.” Loofahs take ages to dry, so if yours is being used every day, chances are it’s never really getting dry. The bacteria that can grow in a loofah include E. coli bacteria, pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria, staphylococcus bacteria, and streptococcus bacteria.

That’s where a silicone scrubber comes in. Instead, of the loofah, it’s a quick-drying bacteria-free option and your redhead skin may love it. Silicone scrubbers will gently exfoliate your skin removing sunscreen and any other build-up. They leave your skin feeling soft and won’t irritate many other forms of physical exfoliation for redheads.

Here are some pros of a silicone scrubber:

1. Hygienic: Silicone is less prone to bacterial growth compared to loofahs.

2. Durable: Silicone scrubbers tend to last longer than loofahs, which can deteriorate over time.

3. Easy to clean: Silicone is non-porous, making it easier to rinse and keep clean.

4. Gentle exfoliation: Silicone bristles provide a gentle exfoliation without being abrasive to the skin.

5. Eco-friendly: Silicone scrubbers are often more environmentally friendly than loofahs, as they can be reused for a longer period, reducing waste.

6. Versatility: Silicone scrubbers can be used for various purposes, including cleaning dishes, fruits, and vegetables, in addition to exfoliating the skin.

7. Temperature resistance: Silicone can withstand high temperatures, making it suitable for use in both hot and cold water.

8. Hypoallergenic: Silicone is less likely to cause allergic reactions or irritation compared to natural materials like loofahs.

9. Color options: Silicone scrubbers come in a variety of colors and designs, allowing for personalization and aesthetic appeal.

10. Quick drying: Silicone dries faster than loofahs, reducing the risk of mold and mildew buildup.
