What Are ‘Soap Brows,’ and How Can Redheads Get Them

TikTok is at it again! Here's how redheads can rock the look:

Updated: November 2nd, 2023

As tamed all-natural brows become more and more popular, we’ve seen a new trend emerge thanks to TikTok. “Soap brows” are the newest way to keep your eyebrows sitting right where you want them. When you scroll through the #soapbrows hashtag on TikTok or Instagram, redheads seem to not participate in this trend. Many of us have a hard enough time finding the perfect redhead eyebrow product. Here’s how to get soap brows for your redhead brows:

What are soap brows + how do you do it?

Originally soap brows started just like their name implies, with soap. That’s right, you take bar soap (most people seem to be loving Pears Glycerine Soap) and get “perfect” full-looking brows:

Here’s the step-by-step:

Spray a bar of soap with either water or a facial spray.

Grab an eyebrow spoolie and rub it against the damp bar of soap.

Brush your eyebrow hairs upwards, or in your preferred style.

With your finger, smooth the hairs flat, or draw in additional hairs with a pencil.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

The soap brow trend isn’t all that bad for your skin, but if you suffer from sensitive skin, you might find the soap drying. Additionally, regular bar soap isn’t intended to go around your eyes so it may cause issues if you get any in the eye. Opt for an all-natural soap bar like this one.

Can I get this look without soap?

The soap brow look can be achieved by adding a specifically made paste, wax, or pomade to the brow and brushing upwards to accentuate the lift of the brow. Soap brows are usually worn naturally with little to no filler.

How do you give the brows color?

Option #1: Before applying your paste/soap, add a little color to your brows. This could be by using a light coat of Finally Have Brows tinted brow gel. This will help your brows look fuller and more prominent. It will also help them match your hair better. Just remember, this is a more natural look, so go very light with the products to keep your brows from looking cakey.

Option #2: Another option is to do nothing. Keep it natural! The soap brow trend really enhances the natural shape of the brow and isn’t a heavy filled-in look. Try rocking the soap brow trend with your natural brow color for a polished no-makeup look.
