In the August 2014 issue of Vogue, a spread titled, “Fire Starters” was released. Photographer, Annie Leibovitz, put together a beautiful editorial feature including Julianne Moore and her daughter, Jessica Chastain, Amy Adams, Karen Elson, Madison Stubbington, and Florence Welch. Each photo has a different title to illustrate how their red hair came to be. The green ‘redhead friendly’ colored background, strong makeup and bold fashion choices made each and every photo pop.
GENE GENIES: Julianne Moore and her daughter, Liv, showcase their incredible hair in this mother & daughter photo.
NATURAL RESOURCES: Jessica Chastain tells Vogue, “I’ve never dyed my hair.” The article states she is known to brand photos of herself as a child– freckled, ginger, with Pippi Longstocking-like tresses.
AGAINST NATURE: Amy Adams calls her unadorned hair color ‘golden retriever’. She said, “I absolutely identify as a redhead.”
BEAUTY AND THE BOLD: “I’ve always been red, but I made it brighter. I became bolder when I was eighteen, when I met Grace [Coddington],” Karen Elson told Vogue. “It fits the skin I’m in.”
BAPTISM BY FIRE: Florench Welch tells Vogue about the moment she went red. “We had been up all night and were wandering the streets of Paris midday looking for this place called Rock Hair. Then and there I decided to go bright red..” She didn’t know it would be the defining moment of her life.
RUNWAY REBEL: Madison Stubbington, a model to watch, is sixteen and commented on her hair saying, “I’m very lucky. It sets me apart.”
