As you ladies know, finding the correct foundation for fair skin can be a struggle. While other people are worried about formulations, we’re just concerned with finding something that is light enough for our skin tone. Sometimes when we do find the right shade, it’s crazy expensive. I rounded up the top 5 ‘redhead friendly’ approved drugstore foundations for fair skin and the shades that fit best for my skin:
1. L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation in N1-2 or W2
L’Oreal’s True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation is the perfect mineral foundation. Buildable (you can use it to cover dark circles and blemishes), yet still gives the illusion of fresh skin. Every time I wear this, people ask what I’m doing differently with my skin — it almost looks airbrushed! It’s the only mineral foundation I’ve found that doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry and parched. It wears well and lasts all day.
2. CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-In-1 Foundation in Ivory (810)
The oil-free and non-greasy CoverGirl Outlast Stay 3-in-1 Foundation in Ivory formula works wonders for all-day coverage. The right fit for someone who wants coverage with a bit of glow. Medium to full coverage, this formula evens out skin tone and helps hide imperfections.
3. L’Oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in Porcelain (W-1)
Perfect for warm skin tones that wan a light to medium coverage, L’Oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup is light and airy, this won’t make you feel like you have makeup caked on your face all day long — which is lovely!
4. Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation (110)
5. Revlon ColorStay Foundation for Combo/Oily Skin (110)
If you have pink undertones, the Revlon ColorStay Foundation is the makeup for you. Full coverage that doesn’t budge all day and has a super creamy consistency. This also has buildable coverage if you want medium coverage in some areas, but full in others.
6. Maybelline Fit Me Set + Smooth Pressed Powder (110 or 115)
Both of these shades are super ‘redhead friendly’! If the Fit Me Foundation (recommended above) is too much for you, I always love to keep this pressed powder in my purse to apply throughout the day to banish shine and keep my makeup looking fresh. These are definitely winners! If you haven’t been able to find a powder light enough, the shade 110 is a winner.
7. CoverGirl Oil Control Pressed Powder in Classic Ivory (510)
This CoverGirl Control Pressed Powder has been a go-to in my makeup bag for over a decade. Tried and true, this sets my makeup and never irritates my overly sensitive skin. I will always have some on-hand or in my handbag.
8. e.l.f. Perfect Finish HD Powder
You have my permission to skip the over-priced translucent setting powder because this works just as well! e.l.f. improved their already amazing loose powder by putting it in this less-mess pressed form. This finely milled powder sets makeup without looking caked-on or dry. A little bit goes a LONG way.
Rock it like a Redhead!
