Tips for Growing Your Red Hair Long and Healthy

Rona O’Connor is a celebrity colorist who has worked on Hollywood’s most famous redheads! She has colored Debra Messing, Laura Prepon from That 70′s Show, Melissa Gilbert, Jayma Mays from Glee, Rachel Boston, Joanna Garcia, Blake Lively and Bella Thorne.

Here are her do’s and ‘don’ts for growing your red hair long and healthy:

DO’S:

Do: Keep it trimmed every 6 weeks. Ask for a ‘health trim’ which is about a centimeter to dust off split ends.

Do: Use leave-in conditioners from the mid-strands through the ends to keep the hair moisturized and protected from harmful elements.

Do: Use deep conditioning treatments weekly. Try: Kerastase Nutritive Masquintense Intense Enriching Treatment

Do: Take hair vitamins. “I love Maxi Hair by Country Life!”

Do: Be gentle when combing wet hair as it is more fragile than when it’s dry.

DON’TS:

Don’t: Change your hair color too often

Don’t: Rub your hair with a towel as it roughs up the cuticle and causes damage and possible breakage- towel blot instead!
