The Best Highlighters for Your Redhead Skin Tone

Get ready to glow!

Updated: April 6, 2020

A good highlighter should be a staple in your redhead makeup bag. Highlighting (aka strobing) is the key to getting an effortless redhead glow. It creates the illusion of brightness and is usually the finishing touch to your makeup look.

How to pick the right shade for your redhead skin tone:

Those with fair to light skin tones (most redheads) should opt for highlighters with a pearlescent, icy-silver sheen. It’ll add some radiance to your skin without making you look ghostly.

Those redheads with a tan skin tone should opt for golden, champagne-colored highlighters. Also, try highlighters with peach undertones.

How to apply highlighter correctly

  1. Apply the product on the apple of the cheeks, on the bridge of the nose and the brow bone.

2. If you applied too much, try adding some foundation to that area, instead of rubbing it off.

3. Use a soft, fluffy angled brush to apply your highlighter. Beauty blenders (dampened) are another great tool to achieve that dewy look.
