Shampoo
The first thing you want to do is get your hair nice and clean. This will help to remove any build-up or excess oils, leaving you with a blank canvas to start the nourishing process.

Rinse Treatments
Any hair treatment like a mask that sits for a bit and then gets rinsed out should go next. Applying these products straight to clean, wet hair and allow them to soak in and to really penetrate the hair.
Conditioner
Follow up your treatments with a conditioner, this will help you start adding some of the moisture back into your locks and get them nice and smooth.
Leave in Treatment
Get out of the shower and ring some of the water out of your hair so it’s damp but not soaked. Then you want to apply any leave-in treatments.
Heat Protectant
If you plan to blow dry or heat style your hair now is the time to apply your heat protection. Make sure to fully saturate your locks from roots to ends and distribute with a comb.

Mousse / Gel
For curly-haired redheads or those who like some extra volume, now is a good time for your mousses and light gels. These will help to hold natural curls in place or add volume.
Oils and Serums
Once your hair is dry, you want to apply your oils and serums for added softness and shine. You can also apply these before you dry if you prefer or if you have a heavier oil that shouldn’t be applied to dry hair.
Hairspray / Dry Shampoo
Wait until after drying and styling to apply any hairspray or dry shampoo. These products don’t mix well with heat so you don’t want to apply them and then use hot tools.
