How to be a Redhead Turns 6: The 6 Best Moments This Year

Adrienne & Stephanie take us down memory lane yet again....

Today: How to be a Redhead Turns 6!

It’s hard to believe six years have passed since we launched HowtobeaRedhead.com. We started with a small blog, which turned into a website, and now a brand. This past year, 2016, has been our biggest year yet. With roughly 500,000 unique hits per month, over 150,000+ social media followers, the “How to be a Redhead” book released and a successful 12 city book tour with our partner, Paul Mitchell.

Thank you from the bottom of our hears!

We have all created a positive, empowering ‘Red Movement’ — and what a ride is has been! We’re thrilled for the future!

Let’s take a look down memory lane. The top 6 moments in our 6th year:

1. The How to be a Redhead Beauty Book

The world’s first beauty book for redheads, “How to be a Redhead”, was released in April. We’re still in awe when we pick up the book at a bookstore!  It’s been our dream since day one to write a book for all our redheads to read. The 272 page book is filled with makeup tips, hair tutorials, skin advice… and more! We teamed up with some awesome experts to make the book even more amazing.

2. The How to be a Redhead Book Tour

We embarked on a 12 city book tour throughout the United States and had the privilege to collaborate with Paul Mitchell and The Paul Mitchell School throughout every city. We shared our story in book stores, redhead festivals and hair schools. It was a joy to meet all our fans and have them share their stories during the Q/A portion.

3. 2nd Annual Love Your Red Hair Day

November 5, 2016 aka Love Your Red Hair Day trended on Twitter and Instagram! It was created by How to be a Redhead to remind redheads everywhere to love and appreciate their hair.

4. #H2BARBox

We created the H2BAR Box in October 2015 and have since tripled our subscribers! We have a blast curating the box and work extremely hard throughout the year to make each and every box fun, unique and (redhead) special. Subscribe now!

5. Stephanie got married!

Stephanie, our co-founder, got married this summer on a farm outside of Boston, Massachusetts. She rocked a gorgeous braid and lace dress.

6. New redhead tutorials

For years, many people have been asking us for video tutorials. We started our “Short and Sweet” tutorials this past November and they’ve been a big bit! Many of them capture items included in the H2BAR Box. Take a look at them below:

We can’t wait to see what 2017 brings to the “How to be a Redhead” community — we have lots of plans in store and can’t wait to share news with you soon! Rock it like a Redhead!
