Pantone’s Very ‘Redhead Friendly’ Color of 2017

Drumroll, please...

The Pantone Color Institute named “greenery” (PANTONE 15-0343) the color of the year for 2017. The life-affirming, ‘Redhead Friendly’ shade is a symbol for new beginnings ahead and the pursuit of personal passions and vitality. At one point or another, most redheads have rocked this color — and just when we thought there couldn’t be a more  ‘Redhead Friendly’ Pantone shade than 2013‘s, they proved us wrong.

Redhead celebrities have been rocking this color for decades. It’s a very exciting time!

Pantone Color of the Year

Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, stated “Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the hope we collectively yearn for amid a complex social and political landscape. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate, revitalize and unite, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”

The Pantone website also states, “Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.”

When we heard about the news yesterday morning, right away we remembered Jessica Chastain’s look at the 40th Anniversary of Charlie Chaplain’s Honorary Academy Award:
