4 Ways To Hydrate Dry Winter Red Hair

Updated: November 22, 2020

I’m blessed with naturally thick wavy/curly red hair. It is my pride & joy and I am always using special remedies to hydrate dry winter hair. In months when it is colder and much windier, I find my hair gets very dry and knotty. Do any of you redheads suffer from the same problem?

Here are my top tips for battling the bitter cold, redhead style:

1. Tame the tangles. It is important to take time to battle those knots and keep hair smooth and sleek. This means combing or brushing hair daily to make sure all tangles disappear. By keeping your tresses in top form every day, any knots will be kept to a minimum. Having regular hair cuts will also keep split ends and tangles at bay. For those with thick red hair, regular cuts will stop hair from getting too heavy.

2. Keep calm & condition. I have recently discovered the Organix range of conditioners which contain natural ingredients to help nourish hair and works to make it more manageable. It’s definitely ‘Redhead Friendly!’ By investing in a good quality conditioner or hair mask, your radiant red locks will start to look sleeker and sexier, which will make you feel sensational.

3. Clarify. Too much product build-up can leave our hair looking a bit sad. Ensure you use a clarifying shampoo at least once a week.

4. Beat the Heat. Using a lot of heat on our hair can really dry out our red locks. If you’re going to be styling your hair, make sure you are prepped with a heat protecting spray. Or, even better, have a heat hiatus and let your hair air dry or opt for styles that require no heat-using appliances.
