How to Bring Out the Color in Your Eyes and Make Your Red Hair Pop

Updated: September 8, 2020

We, redheads, are united by our fantastic hair color and unique in the fact that no two shades are ever the same. It’s the same with our eyes. Blue, brown, green or hazel. Everyone has a different shade and all eye colors look drop dead gorgeous with red hair. This article will give you the best eyeshadow shades to choose for your eye color.

Keep in mind, it is important for redheads to really embrace their hair color and complexions! Fall, in my opinion, is one of the best seasons for redheads to ROCK what Mother Nature gave us and shine bright — but these suggestions are for all seasons too.

Tip: When you’re looking for an eyeshadow, always keep your complexion and hair color in mind. When shopping, swatch the colors you like on the back of your hand. This will give you an idea of how they will work against your hair.

Here are tips on how to make your eyes POP with the perfect eyeshadow shades:

BLUE EYES:

Do you rock a pair of gorgeous baby blues that highlight your hair like the beautiful Nicole Kidman?

Opt for: orange-toned brown or gold eyeshadows. Orange is opposite blue in the color wheel, so the stark contrast in color will really make your eyes stand out and sparkle!

GREEN EYES:

Graced with a gorgeous pair of green eyes like Julianne Moore? Warmer neutral colors will work well with your green eyes.

Opt for: A color like rich brown to highlight the crease. Deep plum or rich pink colors will help to make those light green eyes pop and highlight opulent darker greens.

BROWN EYES:

Any of you radiant redheads blessed with a set of beautiful brown eyes like Isla Fisher?

Opt for: neutral and taupe-y tones will help create that smokey effect and make you look more mysterious.

HAZEL EYES:

Do you have hazel eyes like Ms. Emma Stone?

Opt for: Redheaded lovelies with hazel eyes can pick and choose between eyeshadow colors that are suited to brown or green eyes: golds, coppers and jewel-toned shades look sensational. Use a deep brown eyeliner to line your lid will help open up the eye without looking as dramatic as a black liner.
