How Redheads Can Rock Curtain Bangs

Curtain bangs are the hottest new hair trend. They are the perfect way to have bangs without committing to the upkeep of having to ditch your part. This homage to the 1960s and 1970s is popping up on redhead celebrities and on the street, so how can you rock them?

1. Decide if they work for your texture

Curtain bangs work best on red hair that’s straight or relaxed. While you can rock curtain bangs on curly hair, it’s going to take a bit more maintenance and upkeep. Talk with your stylist about how curtain bangs would look and if they don’t feel right for your face, try some more face-framing layers to get a similar effect.

2. Pick your length

Curtain bangs can be varying lengths since they don’t fall directly into your face. Longer curtain bangs will be less noticeable, while shorter ones will be more prominent. The length of your curtain bangs might depend on your face shape, hair length, and if you want to be able to put them back in a ponytail.

3. Decide how thick you want them

Thin curtain bangs hang on the sides of your face, framing the face nicely. The more hair you have cut the further forward the bangs will come. The thicker the bangs the more forehead they will cover. Start with thinner bangs and have your stylish cut more as you go.

4. Learn how to style them

There are tons of cute ways to style curtain bangs, but it will take some getting used to. Curtain bangs look gorgeous when they have some added volume and look great with curled hair, crimped hair, relaxed hair, and even updos. Play around with different styles and take some inspiration from places like Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok to learn how to style your new bangs.
