After years of contour being the number one face product, blush has officially made its comeback and we love it with red hair. Whether you’re new to wearing blush or you just want to update your application technique, we’ve got you covered.
How to apply blush
One of the biggest mistakes most blush wearers make is applying blush low down on their cheek closer to their mouth than their temples. Blush should be applied on the apples of the cheeks (smile and then find the highest point) and blended upwards.
Blending blush up towards the temples gives you a more natural look and lifts the face. Properly blending out your blush will eliminate any harsh lines and give you a nice soft flushed look. For powder blushes, move your brush in a swirled sweeping motion toward the temples. For cream blushes, bounce your sponge dragging the product upward to add lift.
Start with a little blush and add more if you like, blush can be very pigmented and a little can go a long way. Blush is very buildable so by applying a little at a time you can find the right amount for your face.
