The Little Mermaid reboot is coming to a theater near you!
Halle Bailey, the 19-year-old singer, who is half of the R&B duo Chloe x Halle, will star as Ariel in Disney’s remake.
Director Rob Marshall said in a statement, “After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance—plus a glorious singing voice—all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role.” The quality of her voice is absolutely amazing –– it’s no wonder Beyoncé fell in love with her when she discovered Bailey and signed her to her record label.”
