Hairstyle Appreciation Day: 5 Looks to Enhance Your Red Hair

Today is the day to be thankful for hairstyles that express who you are because it is Hairstyle Appreciation Day. Redheads should not only be grateful for hairstyles, but should also give thanks that they have red hair and can rock the best hairstyles on the planet.  Most hairstyles show off all of the highlights and dimensions of red hair color and attracts the eye, which is why you’ll see a ton of redheads in hair magazines, television, movies and advertisements.

On Hairstyle Appreciate Day, give thanks for your red locks and rock some of these awesome hairstyles that will enhance your look:

1. Classic Twist:

The French twist is a classic up-do. This classic hairstyle fits any face-shape, but can work especially well if you have medium to long hair. This will allow you to personalize this classic do and make it your own. Redheads have exquisite porcelain skin, and this classic style allows you to showcase your fair and elegant shoulders. To achieve the classic twist, gather your hair at the nape of your neck and begin twisting your hair. Roll your twisted hair upwards and then tuck inwards. Secure your French twist with several bobby pins. You may choose to tuck any loose ends into the twist, or allow them to gather at the top of your twist.

2. Modern Bun:

Many redheads have beautiful eyes, and a high bun with bangs is a great way to bring attention to your eyes.To achieve this modern bun, style your bangs as you normally would. Next, gather your hair into a high ponytail. After securing your ponytail with an elastic, twist your hair around the base of your ponytail until you fully roll your hair into a bun. Secure the coil with u-shaped bobby pins. To give your hair more volume, without teasing, start off with a high ponytail. Take a pair of socks you don’t wear anymore and snip off the toe ends, Place one sock into another, then grab the inside of the sock and roll outwards. Continue to roll outwards, until you create a donut shape. Take your donut shaped socks and secure it around your high ponytail. Then wrap your hair around the sock as you normally would for a regular bun. Secure the ends with the u-shaped bun. Adjust your hair around the sock until no remnants of the sock show through.

3. The Fishtail Braid:

This braid isn’t a French braid — meaning it shouldn’t start at the top of your head. Instead, it’s best to begin braiding just above the ear. The best fish tails start with thoroughly combed hair. Prep hair by brushing hair from root to end, work out knots from the bottom of the strands upward with a fine tooth comb. Follow these instructions for the best fishtail braid for redheads.

4. High Ponytail:

There is nothing like a high red ponytail to attract others eyes and give  you that big boost of confidence! Simply flip your head over and use a brush to comb out any knots on the top and bottom of the head. Gather the hair into a ponytail and secure with an elastic. Secure any loose hair with redhead bobby pins and use a tiny bit of hairspray to secure the ‘do.’

5. Wear your hair down, loose and natural- and Rock it like a Redhead!
