We’ve been talking about how most natural redheads have very fair, translucent skin. In turn, this means thinner teeth enamel and yellow-looking teeth. Getting a consistently bright, A-list-worthy smile can be a difficult –– not to mention an expensive task. If your upcoming schedule is booking up and you don’t have 20-30 minutes (or the budget) to dedicate to whitening, we’re recommending two products for every redhead this New Year: a great lipstick and a teeth whitening pen.
1. The Lipstick
If your goal is pearly whites, you can’t choose any ol’ lipstick. One of our favorite shades, MAC’s ‘Ruby Woo’ is ultra-flattering for most skin tones, especially those with fair skin. It has a blue base which is also like a whitening treatment in a tube. Think about it this way: Blue and orange/yellow sit across from each other on the color wheel, so blue tones tend to cancel out orange or yellow tones when together. Therefore, it’s always recommended that redheads choose a lipstick formulated with a blue base to help cancel out stained or yellow teeth.
Some other ‘Redhead Friendly’ approved lippies are: Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Lipstick 01 and Maybelline Creamy Matte lipstick in ‘Divine Wine’
2. Whitening Pens
A whitening pen is a quick and easy way to whiten your smile! Try Colgate Optic White Overnight Teeth Whitening Pen or SmileDirectClub Teeth Whitening 2.5ml Gel Touch-up Pen.
How to Use:
Step 1: After brushing teeth with a toothbrush, remove the cap from the Whitening Pen and twist the dial at the bottom until a small drop of gel is visible at the brush tip. Several twists may be required at first use.
Step 2: Brush a thin layer of gel directly onto the front surface of the upper and lower teeth. Allow drying for 30 seconds.
Step 3: Do not rinse. Refrain from eating or drinking for 30 minutes after application.
Pair your beautiful teeth with your favorite lipstick — and just like that, you already have a head start in 2016.
Rock it like a Redhead!
