Calming Moisturizers: Do They Really Help Redheads with Sensitive Skin?

Yes! Here's Why...

You may have seen the words “calming” or “relief” on moisturizer packaging, but what does that really mean? Usually, when a facial product is marketed as being calming, it’s because it has ingredients to help with redness, irritation, and/or inflammation. In most calming moisturizers this is accomplished with ingredients like plant extracts that can naturally calm the skin.

Wondering if calming moisturizers are good for your redhead sensitive skin? The answer is yes!

What to look for when purchasing a calming moisturizer:

Calming products are usually targeted toward sensitive skin. A good calming moisturizer should have natural ingredients like calendula, chamomile, and other plant extracts. Since these are natural ingredients they are typically more sensitive skin friendly than chemical ingredients.

Look for key words:

Of course, not every single product is okay for sensitive skin, so the best thing to do is look for the words “sensitive skin safe” or “made for sensitive skin”. You can also stick to brands you know work well with your sensitive skin, and always check the ingredients

Don’t confuse calming moisturizers with acne products:

Calming moisturizers should also not be confused with acne treatment. Calming products can help to soothe the skin and reduce redness, but they often don’t have any acne-fighting properties. Calming moisturizers should be used to keep the skin hydrated and calm, while acne-targeting products should be used to clear the pores, reduce acne and prevent blemishes.

Rock it like a Redhead!
