Sun protection is vital for babies, especially redhead babies with sensitive skin. Sunburn is very painful for babies, and their skin is more prone to burning during the spring and summer months. Like adults, babies can experience sunburn and sun damage even on cloudy days, so be sure to use sun protection whenever there is a UV index above 0.
Sunscreen can be applied to the skin starting around 6 months. Prior to that babies should be protected with proper clothing and hats, shade, and other forms of sun protection. For babies and kids 6 months and older, here are some of our favorite sunscreens.
H2BAR Tip: Applying sunscreen evenly to babies’ skin can be tough, so try using a foundation brush for an even spread out without the mess. Just pop one in your beach bag and you’ll be ready for the day! One of our favorite tools for this is the Yoseng Oval Foundation Brush.
