Every week, we put out a call for your redhead questions. This gives you a chance to get advice or input from our team of redheads. From beauty and fashion to lifestyle, redheads are in a unique boat, and we want to help make this community a place where you can turn for all your redhead needs.
This week, we’re talking about redheads and eyebrow color! We were asked on Instagram, “Should my brows match my red hair? I have them tinted darker, but I’m unsure if they should match.” It’s common for redheads’ natural brows not to match their hair color, so let’s talk about it!
Brow advice for redheads
Usually, redheads have light reddish blonde eyebrows that are lighter than their red hair, but some have naturally dark brows. Many redheads with light brows want to help accentuate the brow and frame the face. If you’re wondering how your brows should look, there’s no hard and fast rule.
First, It’s all a matter of personal preference. It all depends on how defined you like your brows to be.
For our tips, we recommend finding the most natural look. You should aim for your brows to be one shade lighter than your natural hair color.
If you want to do a brow tint and have something more permanent, most brow tints are made for blondes and brunettes, meaning your brows won’t have a reddish hue. We love using redhead-specific brow products from the How to be a Redhead Finally Have Brows line to help get the perfect color.
Lash advice for redheads
Although this week’s Ask a Redhead question asked explicitly about brow color, redheads often ask this same question about lash color. When it comes to eyelashes, mascara is the best way to define the lashes. Black is the most common mascara color, and while redheads can rock a black mascara, some may find it too dark for their liking. We love our Finally Have Lashes Enhancing mascara line in various custom redhead shades. They will darken light lashes while still looking natural and giving you a color closer to your red hair color.
