6 Holiday Makeup Tips for Redheads

Feeling Festive?

The holiday season offers an excellent opportunity to explore new redhead makeup looks and experiment with bold styles. This time of year allows for more sparkle, color, and dramatic makeup than you might typically wear. Unsure where to begin with your holiday makeup? We’ve put together a few tips to help you get started:

1. Add a little sparkle

Glitter, sparkles, and luminous makeup are quintessential elements of the holiday season. Adding glitter to your eyelids is an excellent way to enhance your eyeshadow look. Choose a glitter that complements the color of your eyeshadow, or elevate the effect with metallic or pearlescent glitter. For a more subtle touch, consider applying sparkle to your eyes’ inner and/or outer corners. You can also incorporate shine with a glitter highlighter or lip gloss for a festive finish.

2. Rock that red lip

There’s no better time of year to rock a red lip than the holiday season. A bold red lip will complete your winter outfit and help warm the face. If you’re still looking for your perfect red shade, try Finally Bold in Perfectly Red! Pair your red lip with a neutral eye, or go all out and rock a full glam. Want to help create some cohesion in your look? Apply some red lipstick as blush and blend for a subtle warmth.

3. Enhance the eyes

The holiday season is ideal for experimenting with colors you might not typically wear. If bold hues feel intimidating, consider opting for more muted, winter-inspired shades. We particularly recommend the color plum—deep purples can beautifully complement red hair and highlight the color of your eyes. Try dark purple eyeshadow paired with black or plum mascara for a striking look. Additionally, don’t hesitate to experiment with other shades and metallics like gold and silver to add an extra touch of elegance.

4. Try graphic liner

Adding a pop of color with a graphic liner is an easy way to add intrigue to the eyes but keep it simple. During the holidays, adding a pop of color like red or green or going for a metallic shimmer look is fun. Wear your graphic liner with shadow or on its own, and complete the look with full lashes.

5. Get your glow on

This is a great alternative (or addition) to sparkles! Using glowy foundation, warming up the face with bronzer, and topping it off with an extra luminous highlight is a great way to bring the season’s warmth into your makeup look. Want to create a monochromatic look? Try a bronze/gold eye, deep brown mascara, and a warm, bronzy lip.

6. Add faux freckles

This one isn’t just for the freckle-less redhead out there! Adding freckles or enhancing the ones you already have is a cute way to play up your makeup. You can try a more natural-looking freckle or even a glitter freckle for some more festive fun!
