We recently shared with the H2BAR community why we love HydraFacials and why we think redheads should try them. We know getting a facial of any kind can be a daunting experience, so we went to the professionals to get some questions answered. Jwala Karnik is the Chief Medical Officer for BeautyHealth and answered our top questions about HydraFacials and redhead skin:
1. Topic 1: HydraFacials and sensitive redhead skin
Most redheads have sensitive skin, so this was our number one question. Many traditional facials can leave redheads’ skin feeling irritated or inflamed which is not the desired outcome.
H2BAR: Does a Hydrafacial work for someone with sensitive skin? How/why?
Jwala Karnik (JK): “Yes, Hydrafacial treatments are safe for all skin types, ages, and genders.
Hydrafacial is painless, non-invasive, and comes with zero downtime, unlike other beauty treatments or conventional facials.
Each step of the Hydrafacial treatment can be personalized to meet individual clients’ needs, which provides countless opportunities to treat sensitive and/or sensitized skin.
Within our personalized options, Hydrafacial offers a booster solution for a wide range of skin concerns – it has key ingredients including Beta Glucan which helps minimize visible redness and offset any potential sensitivity.
When clients leave the treatment room, you can see the immediate results with a glow that lasts.”
2. Topic 2: HydraFacials and pigmentation / sun damage
Another important question, specifically for redheads, is how Hydrafacials work with skin that has hyperpigmentation and/or sun damage. Since redheads burn more easily, sun damage is often present, especially in more mature redheads who may not have known to wear SPF in their younger years.
H2BAR: How about pigmentation/sun damage?
JK: “Hydrafacial has more than 20 boosters, many co-created with leading skincare brands, which allow estheticians to customize and personalize each Hydrafacial treatment according to a consumer’s particular skin concerns, such as pigmentation + sun damage.”
3. Topic 3: HydraFacials vs regular facials
We know many of our redhead readers, including some of those on our team, have had traditional facials before. Some redheads enjoy them, while other redheads don’t have a good experience. We wanted to know what sets HydraFacials apart from regular facials, and what differences redheads can expect.
H2BAR: How is a Hydrafacial different than a regular facial?
JK: “Hydrafacial’s patented vortex technology uniquely and effectively cleanses, extracts, and hydrates. Hydrafacial’s non-invasive treatment improves skin health, addresses individual concerns, and creates a glow like no other. Unlike traditional facials, it’s performed via device rather than by hand, for enhanced exfoliation and deeper product penetration for lasting results.
The magic of a Hydrafacial is in the wand, which works like a vacuum to open pores for a deep cleanse and easy extraction of impurities and dead skin cells. It also allows the active ingredients in our device solutions and boosters to penetrate deeper, for the most effective treatment possible.”
Would you give it a try?
