Valentine’s Day is all about love, including loving yourself! Sure roses and chocolates are great and date night is fun, but if you’re struggling with self-love it’s time to treat yourself. Here are a few of our favorite ways to practice self-care this Valentine’s Day.
1. Pamper yourself
Whether you’re single or in a relationship you should feel pampered on Valentine’s Day, and if nobody is going to do it for you, do it for yourself! Take yourself out for a day of pampering activities like a blowout, a manicure, or a massage. Order in your favorite foods, or dine out at a restaurant you love. Drink an extra glass of wine, or eat some chocolates. Do all the things that make you feel good.
2. Spend time with people you love
Take the day to spend time with people you love. Maybe it’s your spouse, or maybe your girlfriends, or maybe you want to visit family. No matter who you spend the day with, go on a date, make it a fun one. Have brunch, watch a movie or do a group activity. Surrounding yourself with people who love you is a great form of self-care and it feels a lot better than sitting home alone.
3. Don’t feel guilty
Maybe you don’t feel like celebrating this year, or maybe you want a day all to yourself. No matter what you do, don’t feel guilty. There’s nothing wrong with skipping Valentine’s Day or just spending it doing what you want. If you’re in a relationship, try not to compare your Valentine’s Day to others. Remember, you are loved and that’s enough.
4. Relax and reset
Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to get some rest and relaxation. Take a hot bath, slip into some cozy pajamas, read a book or take a nap. Doing nothing can be a great form of self-care and you deserve to do whatever makes you happy!
Rock it like a Redhead!
