The movie ‘About Time’ is set to release on November 8th. It’s produced by Richard Curtis, the creator of Love Actually, Notting Hill, and Four Weddings and a Funeral. The lovely new-redhead, Rachel McAdams stars in the film and her co-star, Domhnall Gleeson, also has crimson locks.
It tells the story of a young man whose gift allows him to go back and relive any moment of his life. But instead of making every moment perfect, he learns that life and love are most extraordinary when you embrace all of their imperfections. As the year comes to an end, it’s important to remember that you must live in the moment, make the most out of any mishap and love who you are inside-and-out (freckles, red hair and all!)
How many of you have been working so many hours and desperately need some “girl time” to let go and relax? You call your friends to set a date and finally the day comes around. The morning of, you wake up excited for the night to come. You pick out a cute dress that is work appropriate, but can easily turn into something fun for after work. You look at yourself in the mirror and quickly realize there is a giant pimple that somehow showed up overnight. You quickly brush your red hair over the area and apply fake eyelashes to make you feel beautiful; you even throw some “redhead friendly” red lipstick in your bag for your evening of fun. You think to yourself, “I won’t let a little blemish get me down!” Then, on the way to work, you get soaked by a taxi driving too fast in the rain and are late to work because transportation didn’t work out quite the way you wished. But, you put your head up high and think to yourself, “Only a few hours of work and it’s time for a fun night.”
But, it just so happens your boss has asked you to make a few errands in the rainy weather and you accidentally spilt a cup of coffee down your pretty dress.By the time 5pm strolls around, you look a mess. Your girlfriends will be waiting for you shortly and there’s no time to run home and change. You do think to cancel the entire evening because it may not be a good idea to continue this day of unluckiness. But, something inside of you is still so excited for a fun night out on the town.
If something like the above has happened to you, with a few simple beauty tips, you can get yourself back to the ravishing redhead that you are in a jiffy:
1. Tone Down a Breakout
Did you know that Visine can work to get rid of blemishes? Apply a couple drops to a cotton swab or hold the bottle directly on the pimple for a few seconds to quickly cut redness. If you need more coverage, apply a small amount of concealer and gently press a clean tissue to set it.
2. Lipstick That Will Last All Night
Apply a light layer of foundation or concealer to lips, fill them in with lip liner, then swipe lipstick over the top. Extend the life of your blush and eyeshadow by dusting translucent powder over your face and lids first.
3. Look Awake
To look more awake, add a coat of mascara to your top lashes, wiggling it into the roots and rolling out to the ends. Redheads usually have very light eyelashes and it’s essential to make sure you get some color on them to look bright-eyed and awake.

4. Stop Static In Seconds
After a day of work and unpredictable weather, your red hair can frizz up. Instead of putting it in a ponytail or bun, massage a tiny amount of hand cream into your palms and lightly run it over your hair. You’ll notice your hair is instantly controlled.
5. Smell Pretty
Nothing makes a woman feel more beautiful than smelling good! Fun tip: Mix in a few drops of your perfume with your moisturizer and apply it to your skin.
6. Coffee Stain
Don’t let a little coffee stain get you down. Use a baby wipe to blot up your spill–it absorbs both the liquid and the stain. Don’t have any baby wipes on hand? Ask the bartender for a sample of beer. Rub the beer lightly into the material, and the stain should disappear!
7. Last Minute Touches
Secure your fake eyelashes, apply some loose powder, rock that red lipstick and use your redhead bobby pins to give your hair some stability.
..And to think you almost missed a fun night out with your girlfriends because of a few minutes of bad luck! It’s important to never sweat the small stuff and enjoy the moment. You’ll sure have a great story to share with your friends!
Remember: Instead of making every moment perfect, life is most extraordinary when you embrace all of your imperfections.
Rock it like a Redhead!
