Will Little Archie Be Another Royal Redhead?

Both parents have to have the redhead gene to create a redhead..

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show recently where she showed a photo of her and Prince Harry’s son, Archie, age 2. In the photo, Archie is tending to the family’s adorable flock of chickens. The photo shows the back of Archie’s head, which is looking quite coppery!

When Archie was born he didn’t have much hair but over time his hair has started to look redder and redder. So will young Archie have red hair like his dad? When Prince Harry was little, he wasn’t as red as he is now. In his early years, Prince Harry looked quite like a blonde, but the red came in during his tween and teen years.

Meghan may carry the MC1R gene even though she is not a redhead. Both parents have to have the redhead gene to create a redhead, which means we might have another redhead royal!

FUN FACT: Archie shares his name with another famous redhead, Archie from Riverdale and the Archie comics.
