How Redheads Can Do a Pedicure at Home in 6 Easy Steps

Get your toes looking on point!

Perfecting the at-home pedicure it’s pretty easy, but it will take some practice. Here are a few nail tips and tricks for redheads so you can have the perfect pedicure in minutes.

1. Remove All The Polish

It’s easy for nail polish to get missed on the edges of your toenails. Try using a q-tip dipped in nail polish remover to make sure you get it all off before you start your pedicure.

2. Soak and Trim

If you want the full at-home pedicure experience, soak your feet in a nice warm tub with some bath salts or bath oils to soften and cleanse the skin. Then, trim your toenails and cuticle, and dry before painting.

3. Buff Your Nails

For a longer-lasting pedicure, try buffing your nails with a small buffing brush before painting them. Be sure to wipe away any nail dust that accumulates.

4. Choose a Smaller Brush

If you have smaller toenails, it can be tricky to get the polish on without making a mess. Opt for nail polish with a more narrow brush head, or use a separate brush to apply your nail polish with ease.

5. Apply Base + Top Coat

Keep your toenails from staining by using a base coat, and apply a gel-like top coat to ensure your pedicure lasts as long as possible.

6. Trick: Take a Hot Shower

Once your toe nails are dry, remember your toe nails are pretty forgiving when it comes to applying nail polish. If you’re having trouble staying inside the lines, don’t fret! Let your polish dry completely and then take a hot shower or soak your feet in warm water and watch the polish on the skin flake right off.
