We’ve embraced Zoom over the past year and a half, and for many of us, video calls are here to stay. Whether it’s a work meeting or catching up with long-distance family and friends, you want to look your best when you’re on camera. Here are some tips for styling your red hair for Zoom calls:
1. Fake the clean
Virtual calls and meetings mean nobody can see if your red hair is dirty. Fake the clean with a spritz of dry shampoo or a style that covers greasy roots. If your hair looks clean from the front you’re good to go! Plus, video quality isn’t always the best so nobody will be able to tell if it’s been a few days between washes.
2. Let your red hair be the star
When you’re on a video call, you can usually only be seen from about mid-chest up. This means your outfit isn’t really being shown. Let your red hair be the star of the show by doing something fun like curls, a braided headband, or a half up half down look.
3. No Time? Less is More
When it comes to video calls, your hairstyle doesn’t need to be elaborate. If you’re running short on time, try keeping it simple with a sleek pony, a top knot, or even a sleek braid. The important thing is that your hair is tamed and looks put together, so sometimes pulling it back will do the trick.
Keep in mind those on the call with you will only see you from the front, so just make sure you give yourself some volume, or face-framing pieces so you don’t look too flat.
Rock it like a Redhead!
