It was all about big hair at this season’s Marc by Marc Jacobs show, where models walked down the catwalks rockin’ bouncy, curly manes. We did a similar look at the Rock it like a Redhead fashion show in March. Hair stylist, New York City’s Kiera Doyle, commented saying, “At Rock it like a Redhead this year, it was all about embracing wild locks, curls and frizz. No more shame.”
We have a feeling Marc Jacobs and his stylists was feeling the same way.. as if to say, “Who cares if some of you have frizzy, unmanageable hair. Rock it with confidence because it’s beautiful!”
GET THE LOOK:
1. To get the hair prepped, it’s important to wash and condition your hair with volume-boosting shampoo and conditioner. Then, use a volumising styling mist for a look that is instantly thicker. Make sure to concentrate on the roots before blow drying.
2. Blow dry hair completely or else your curls will not hold correctly. Apply a styling product through the lengths of your hair. This will keep your hair protected against hot tools and damage.
3. Using a 1-1 1/2 inch curling iron, wind varying-sized sections of hair around the barrel with your fingers, hold for 3-4 seconds and release.
4. Tease resulting curls with fingertip and brush through gently. Then throw your head upside down and spray with your favorite hair spray.
