Ashley White, the style director and colorist at Taylor Taylor London, in London, England, is a striking redhead. She talked with How to be a Redhead to discuss how redheads, both natural and ‘by choice,’ can quickly maintain their red locks:
Natural Redheads:
“Natural red hair is so beautiful but it can always use a little help to be extra gorgeous,” says Ashley, “I would recommend using a shampoo and conditioner that adds shine to your hair to keep it looking lustrous. Natural red hair has a multitude of different tones and natural highlights that when looked after properly, can be one of the most vibrant hair colors around.”
“Natural redheads can also invest in a color depositing shampoo and conditioner to keep your red locks from fading!”
‘By Choice’ Redheads:
“Red hair is the hardest color to keep from fading, so a by-choice redhead should always use a color depositing shampoo and conditioner. And use a moisturizing hair mask once a week to give your hair a ‘top up’ boost of color,” recommends Ashley.
Last tip: Natural and ‘by choices’ redheads should get a regular hair cut every 6-10 weeks to get rid of split ends and dryness.
