5 Best Redhead Approved Budget Beauty Tips

For many of us angelically generous reds, the holidays, New Year and Valentine’s Day took quite the hit to our wallet. Now may be a good time to reassess our spending without depriving our looks. Here are some redhead approved beauty tricks of the trade you can find right in your home.

1. Baking Soda

Wintertime is essential for exfoliation. Baking soda has tiny granules of sodium bicarbonate that will slough off dead skin. It is safe to use on the most sensitive types and its antiseptic properties will help fight breakouts. Another use for baking soda is to mix it with your toothpaste to whiten teeth.

2. Oatmeal

This delicious, healthy and cheap breakfast option is great for oily or irritated skin. For a facial mask, cook oatmeal then wait for it to cool. Mix oatmeal, olive oil and water to create a paste and apply. Let it soak on the skin until the edges crust. Then, rinse with warm water using a washcloth. For the body, pour a few cups into a warm bath water and soak in the tub for at least 10 minutes.

3. Coffee

After brewing your morning cup of joe, save the grinds and lightly rub into areas of skin that have cellulite, the natural diuretic will draw out water from targeted areas revealing smoother skin.

4. Asprin*

Get ready to treat more than a headache with Aspirin. This anti-inflammatory contains salicylic acid and beta hydroxy acid which helps to reduce swelling and dries up blemishes. Simply crush one aspirin and mix with it water to make a paste. Dab it on your pimple with a Q-Tip.

5. Parsley

It may sound odd but parsley is a great natural remedy to reduce the look of under-eye circles. It contains vitamin K which reduces blood flow to the eye area when applied topically. Warning, please do not dice up parsley and sprinkle it on your eyes. Instead try mixing it with a spoonful of plain yogurt which cools and moisturizes the skin in a food processor, apply a generous amount to the under-eye area, let it sit for 20 minutes then rinse.

Rock it like a Redhead!
