We’re counting the days until Halloween, which means more Halloween costume ideas! If you want something fun and topical, what better place to turn than TV shows and movies? This year, there are quite a few on-screen redheads to choose from + a few you can do to be ahead of the trend on upcoming reboots and sequels of some of your favorite nostalgic flicks.
1. Penelope (Featherington) Bridgerton
Bridgerton had everyone’s attention this year and is sure to be a hot costume. For the redheads, it’s a no-brainer to go as Penelope. All the costumes from the show are iconic, so you will have plenty to choose from. Do you want to make it a group or couple’s costume? You’ve got an entire cast to choose from!
2. Lily Bloom
It Ends With Us was released this summer and had everyone talking. Blake Lively brought Lily Bloom to the screen with some rather unique costumes, but they would be perfect for Halloween! Make it a couple’s costume, but choose wisely which love interest you pick.
3. Alicent Hightower
House of the Dragon, the extremely popular prequel to Game of Thrones, is an excellent source for Halloween costume ideas. For redheads, Alicent Hightower’s Renaissance style is a great choice.
4. Firecracker
The Boys returned for its fourth season this summer and will be a popular costume. Firecracker is a main character in this new season and a fantastic costume. Her red hair and iconic red and blue costume will be a hit. Make it a group costume by adding other characters from the show.

5. Cady Heron
Mean Girls returned to our screens earlier this year with a musical remake of the 2004 cult classic. Lindsay Lohan’s character Cady is an iconic redhead Halloween costume; even 20 years later, it’s still relevant! If you want to modernize it, opt for the versions of the outfits Angourie Rice wore in the remake.
6. Anna Coleman
Continuing on the Lindsay Lohan train, we have the teen classic Freaky Friday. The sequel for this movie hasn’t come out yet, but it’s slated for 2025 and will put you ahead of the curve. Pull out some of the nostalgia from the 2003 film and rock the night away.
7. Practical Magic
Another film coming out next year is the new Practical Magic. This movie is the oldest but is a must-watch every spooky season. Dress as Nicole Kidman’s character, Gillian, for some 90s nostalgia.
