As the spookiest night of the year draws near, some of us redheads still don’t know what we’re going to dress up for this Halloween. Don’t worry, here are a few ideas for last-minute Halloween costume ideas inspired by recent on-screen releases and a throwback or two.
(Warning: This list might contain some TV series and movie spoilers)
1. Dorcas Night, one of the Weird Sisters on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
For some witchy fun time, you can go as Dorcas Night, the redhead sister on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Get the look: Dorcas Night wears two braids pinned over her head into a crown. Her look involves a dark smokey eye and dark lipstick. The outfit involves a black or darkly colored long sleeve dress with dramatic cuffs and collars, matching leggings and ankle height boots. Your friends can join in as the other two-thirds of the Weird Sisters or you could fly solo.
2. Max from Stranger Things
Max is a relatively new resident to the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana with a tomboyish style that can be found in most wardrobes.
Get the look: Depending on the weather in your area, you can borrow her season two look of a hoodie, light jeans, green sneakers, and for authenticity you can bring a skateboard. For her season three look, you can go with high waisted denim shorts, striped shirt, red sneakers, and red sunglasses. Both looks involve loose wavy red hair that can be pushed back or left down.
3. Ruby Roundhouse from Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
Ruby was in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. It was the follow up to the 1995-classic Jumanji.
Get the look: Her outfit drew a lot of criticism and judgment when first released but is relatively simple to put together with a dark red shirt, khaki green shorts, fingerless gloves, black choker, and combat boots. For the hair, you can add some loose curls towards the bottom for some volume.
4. Beverly Marsh in the remake of Stephen King’s IT
Jessica Chastain stars as Beverly Marsh in the remake of Stephen King’s IT.
Get the look: Grown-up Beverly Marsh wears a stylish grey blazer jacket over a white tank top and torn black jeans and black sneakers topped with curled hair. You can also style the outfit without the jacket and a tattered white tank top for more of an action look.
5. Scully from X-Files
This costume is a bit of a throwback and has a more formal look.
Get the look: With a white dress shirt and navy pantsuit, she is a by-the-book character with a straightened hairstyle and a simple FBI badge (as a prop only, do not impersonate an actual FBI agent) to complete the look. You can pair this look with your own Mulder for the complete supernatural mystery duo.
6. Pepper Potts from The Avengers
Get the look: She has two main looks. One is a pretty relaxed dark tracksuit with bangs and a slicked-back ponytail. You can also wear blue with silver accents and jewelry for her Rescue armor from “Endgame”. This costume can be turned into a couples costume with your own Tony Stark or a group costume with the rest of the Avengers.
All of these costumes can be altered for your comfort and style for a fun Halloween night. So have fun with it, be safe, and Rock it like a Redhead!
