5 Drugstore Products Every Redhead Should Have In Their Makeup Bag

As a redhead, I have experienced my fair share of misses when it comes to trying makeup products. I’ve bought foundations that made my face look too orange and bronzers that were too dark. However, over the years I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t and now my makeup bag is filled with products that make me feel confident.

These are five of my absolute favorite ‘redhead friendly’ products that I use every day:

  1. e.l.f. Cosmetics Mineral Pearls in Natural– Powder

This is a great bronzing shade for fair skin. It’s not too dark and will give your skin the right amount of warmth without making you look orange. It’s effortless to blend and if you accidentally go in with a heavy hand (we all make mistakes!), it can be easily toned down by brushing some translucent powder over the top of it!

2. e.l.f. Cosmetics Eyebrow Kit in Light – For Contouring

Despite its intended purpose, I don’t use this kit for my eyebrows — I actually use the eyebrow powder for contouring! It’s a great cool-tone brown and the perfect shade for creating more defined shadows on my face. You can use this after bronzer to further define your face or use it on its own for a subtler look.

‘Redhead Friendly’ Tip: If your fair skin has more of a warmer undertone, find a contouring shade with a more of a yellow undertone to it, like Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in Wheat.

3. Wet ‘n Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in Blossom Glow – Highlighter

I mentioned this in one of my previous articles, but I’m so obsessed with it I just had to talk about it again. It’s so easy for certain highlighting shades to look dark on pale skin, but this shade is perfect. It gives your skin a pretty glow and has the slightest iridescent shimmer to it that’s very wearable for every day!

4. Rimmel Stay Matte Loose Powder Transparent – Translucent Powder

This loose powder is one of the only drugstore translucent powders I’ve found that doesn’t settle into fine lines or cause a white glare under the eyes in photos that are taken with a flash. It blends beautifully into the skin with a brush or makeup sponge and will keep you looking matte all day long!

5. CoverGirl Katy Kat Matte Lipstick in Catour- Lipstick

This is one of my favorite lipstick colors for fall. It’s a gorgeous mauve color that looks great with pale skin and red hair! It’s a demi-matte formula, so it will dry down without making your lips feel chapped.

‘Redhead Friendly’ Tip: If you have a hard time applying lipstick with just the bullet, try using a lip brush! It gives you more control, so you can be more precise when applying.
