4 Ways to Add Coconut Oil to Your Redhead Beauty Routine

Honest moment here: I’m a college student who tries to keep costs low in most areas. In the cosmetic department, a jar of coconut oil* for any quick cosmetic touch-up or skin emergency is my go-to. Coconut oil is the key ingredient in hundreds and hundreds of DIY face, hair, nail, and skincare recipes. Keep scrolling for easy tips on ways to incorporate this kitchen staple into your beauty routine.

Face:

In the winter, a missing chapstick at a crucial moment can lead to a dry lip in no time. A quick application of coconut oil can patch that up; along with any dry patches that might make an appearance on your skin. You can also use a cotton swab of coconut oil to clean off makeup after a long day.

Hair:

Coconut oil can be used as a hair mask to help bring your red hair back to life. Massage the product into your hair (from the ends to the root) and leave it in for at least 30 minutes.

Nails:

Make coconut oil a part of your mani-pedi routine. Use it as a cuticle oil or hand moisturizer after your nails have dried. Try doing this before bed so the oil soaks into your cuticles while you sleep.

Body:

Incorporate this magical product in your body care routine. Use as an all-in-one body moisturizer and post-shaving hydrator. Don’t forget your elbows!

*Coconut oil might not react the same to every redhead’s skin. Before dousing yourself head to toe in coconut oil, do a patch test to make sure it is the right product for you. We recommend using all-natural, organic coconut oil
