4 Must-Try Tips for Fall Redhead Makeup

Fall is here and with the changing of the season comes new “redhead friendly” makeup tips. We asked celebrity makeup artist, Amanda Shackleton, for the top makeup advice for redheads during the autumn months.

She said, “Fall is the best season for redheads and some of the latest colors this season are so perfect for ladies with red hair. Here are my four best tips:”

Tip 1: Choose a more saturated earthy color for eyes, cheeks and lips. You can get great makeup inspiration from looking at the colors of changing leaves. The best colors for a redhead’s fall makeup palette are colors ranging from rusty oranges, deep golds, reddish browns and deep ruby reds

Tip 2: Choose one area of the face for the most color — for example, just the eyes, just the lips or just cheeks. You don’t want your makeup to look garish which can happen to redheads easily.

Tip 3: For the other sections of the face, choose a color in the same palette, but slightly more transparent or apply in a sheer layer. This keeps the face in harmony (palette wise).

Tip 4: Brows are big this fall so define your brows with a medium to light brown eye pencil. Then, take a reddish based light brown eyeshadow or brow powder and blend in with a brush over the brown pencil. The color will look more natural and more dimensional than just an auburn pencil because sometimes, it will look too red. You want to avoid looking artificial when the fall sunlight hits your face.
