There should only be one thing on a piece of paper for your New Year’s goal. It’s simple. It’s loving yourself. Simple, right? Not exactly.
You always find yourself wishing you could be something better in a world where we have access to millions of people online and elsewhere. You read thousands of blogs with different products and advice on how to be perfect. You buy a magazine every month that tells you how to improve yourself. You follow people on Instagram and you truly wish that you could be them. You. Can’t. Win.
Am I the only one who feels like this? I have had my fair share of struggling with confidence. However, there is one thing I started to do a few months ago and it has changed my life.
It’s loving myself. I may not be perfect in everyone’s eyes, but no one will ever be. Part of life is being happy with what you were born with. I no longer judge every person that shows up in my life, whether that’s in person or a stranger in a magazine. Sure, I may be harsh sometimes, but I find myself looking people up and down less than ever before.

I encourage you to look at yourself in the mirror and be able to smile. For me, life isn’t about making yourself perfect for others. It’s about making yourself happy so that you can truly be happy. Someone will always have something negative to say, and that is totally okay. If you are comfortable in your skin then you won’t be bothered. So my dear redheads, live it up and rock that hair of yours.
