Embracing Your Freckles and Ways to Enhance Them
Share below why you love your freckles and how you embrace them!
Co-Founder of How to be a Redhead, Stephanie, never liked her freckles when she was growing up (she didn’t even like her red hair, so she went blonde!). She went through a ‘Lindsay Lohan Stage’ and tried to cover up her freckles with every type of method possible. Around the time that she went back to being a redhead, she decided to truly embrace her freckles and she hasn’t looked back. Everyday she wakes up happy that she was born with red hair and kisses from the sun.
Not only can YOU embrace your freckles, but you can enhance them to look even more beautiful. Here are five tips and tricks to make your freckles shine:
1. Mineral Powder Foundation: Choose a loose powder makeup foundation that makes your face look a little lighter which should bring out your freckles. Remember to apply the same makeup just a little on your neck to make it look even.
Tip: Stay away from liquid foundations because those will actually cover up your freckles- and no one wants that!
2. Tinted Moisturizer: A light tinted moisturizer can cover up any uneven areas of the skin and make the freckles look even more gorgeous.

Tip: It is recommended that you use a mineral foundation or tinted moisturizer because if both are used together, your freckles might look like they disappeared.
3. Blush & Bronzer: A pink based blush and a subtle bronzer can make your freckles glisten and pop. Simply sweep your cheekbones with a pink blush and sweep a tiny bit of bronzer over the blush.
Tip: Stay away from products that are too glittery because it will take away from your beautiful freckles.
4. Lipstick: You want to choose a lipstick or lipgloss that won’t over power your freckles; therefore, do not choose a red or nude. Opt for a pinky nude color that will only bring more attention to your skin and freckles.
5. Draw More On: Yes! You can draw more freckles on your skin and it’s so easy. For a more natural look, opt for an eye pencil that you have to sharpen. Choose a color that is closest to the color of your freckles; whether it be dark blonde, red or brown. Lightly dot the eye pencil on your skin, especially along your cheek bone and under your eyes because that is where the sun hits the face. If you are wearing a cute top this summer that shows off your shoulders, add some freckles on your shoulders too!
Tip: Make sure to dab evenly with a blush brush to blend.
Remember, freckles are beautiful and are just as special as your red hair.
