Most people know the numerous problems and consequences all too well with lying out in the sun too long. Despite the fact that you may have a glowing tan or be overly sun kissed, as you age your skin will backlash. As a redhead, I am somewhat pale and do not want to sit in the sun for hours.
So, what do I do? I fake it.
Here are my top tips and my favorite self-tanner:
1. The trick with applying self-tanner as a redhead is to make sure you don’t overdue the color and be sure to stick to fair-med shades. Before any self tanner is applied, make sure skin is clean and exfoliated.
2. My favorite product is Fake Bake. Unlike other sunless tanners, it actually gives your skin a brownish tone instead of an orange or yellow tone. The tan you receive from this product perfectly compliments your hair and looks unbelievably real; just make sure to use the glove provided in the Fake Bake box! You’ll be shocked with how beautiful your skin will look in just a few minutes after applying the product.
Tip: I only apply this on my body and use a tinted moisturizer on my face- this prevents any breakouts, but keeps me looking even and gorgeous!
