Amy Adams: A Redhead to Adore!

Red Entertainment for Your Red Life

By: Kim Wacker

Born in 1974 in Italy, actress Amy Adams has come a long way in her career.  What many people don’t know is that Adams was raised in a Mormon family with six siblings.

Fame didn’t come overnight for Amy; she always dreamed of becoming a ballerina, but ironically, a pulled muscle led her to her first film audition.  Would you believe that before this actress made the big time, she worked as a Sales Associate at Gap and as a Waitress at Hooters?

Over the years, Amy has landed roles in Cruel Intentions, Catch me if you Can, and Charlie Wilson’s War, just to name a few…but when Amy played the role of Giselle in Enchanted, I think we all became enamored with this red-headed beauty!  This performance garnered a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

Adams is truly a “triple threat.”

There’s nothing this quirky redhead can’t do – from singing to dancing and of course acting.   What’s not to love about this “ginger” actress who’s known for playing optimistic characters with cheerful dispositions?

What her fans may not know is that Amy gave birth to her daughter in 2010 and was actually pregnant on the set of The Fighter!

When asked about the roles she plays, Amy said, “I think that I’ve always been attracted to characters who are positive and come from a very innocent place.  I think there’s a lot of room for discovery in these characters and that’s something I always have fun playing.

Need a pick-me-up or a few laughs?  Then you won’t want to miss Amy’s performance in the 2011 film The Muppets.

Adams is working on several projects right now and I have a feeling that will be seeing a lot more of this loveable redhead in 2012!
