The Bomb Beauty Balm

The Bomb Beauty Balm

By: Olivia Shea

As redheads, it can be difficult, frustrating and seemingly impossible to find a beauty product that will conceal what we wish to hide, but not let our alabaster tones and accompanying freckles get spackled like walls from a 1970’s home with a mask of thick white gooey foundation.

Don’t fret my ginger pet, give this a whirl!

BB Cream, short for ‘Blemish Balm Cream’, is all the beauty rave in Asia and lucky for us is making its way to the US. With multiple state of the art makeup and skin care brands adopting its formula (some pictured above!), each putting a spin of their own.

Originally formulated in Germany to help regenerate and sooth patient’s skin post cosmetic surgery, BB Cream is now being marketed to the public. This multifunctional balm can be used as a sunscreen, tinted moisturizer, foundation and concealer. It is safe to use on all skin types, but is most recommended for sensitive and acne prone.

So…what does this magic balm promise?

-Evens skin tone and improve texture

-Provides coverage

-Gives skin a natural no make-up look

-Contains SPF to protect against UVA/UVB rays

-Has anti-wrinkle and skin lightening agents

From Doc Martens to retro Jordans, winged eyeliner to flushed and contoured cheeks, Olivia’s says bring it on! Graduate from the University of Miami, she now works in beauty and continues her passion for writing (makeup and skin care in particular, duh).
