Legs of Red
Legs of Red

As summer comes to a sizzle and fall begins to approach, one typically thinks of dressing like foliage, embracing its muted color pallet: mustard, charcoal gray, chocolate brown (insert yawn). Well ladies, this year the fashion forecast is sunny and bright as this season is livened up with colorful jeans. And the most popular color of them all? Why red of course!
Department stores across the country are stalking their shelves with this seasons must. A personal store brand fav are Zara’s as they’re skinny with some stretch for the ‘I ate too many cookies for lunch’ wiggle room (but hurry as they’re going fast, I should know I’ve been there three times this week trying to get my hands on a pair)!
Now it can seem a bit intimidating making the switch from faded shades of indigo to bright red threads, but they can really be paired with just about anything! Dress them down with a simple V-neck or graphic tee paired with a jean jacket. Or spice them up with a sheer blouse and leather bomber jacket for evening.
Just whatever you do, don’t fall into the ‘o dear I don’t match’ trap and walk out of the house wearing your red hotpants, a red and white flannel, red lipstick, oh and how can I forget? – your red hair. Let the pants be the statement and the rest of your wardrobe let them shine. Happy strutting!
