Ever wondered what it’s like to be the ultimate redhead pin-up girl?
This week, pin-up model Hazel Goodman aka Miss Phoenix shared everything with How to be a Redhead about her lifestyle as a beautiful redhead.
Q: What’s the best part of going red?
A: The best part of going red is how alive it makes me feel. I don’t blend in with the public because my hair is bright and beautiful! I know I stand out more and I love it. My red hair really brings out the blue in my eyes and suits my fair skin tone.
I’ve experimented with many colors, but always end up going back to red.
Q: What’s is it like to live a lifestyle as a pin-up model?
A: I love this lifestyle!
It is a lifestyle full of individuality, confidence, cheekiness and sexuality. I also love the fashion and the timelessness of the look; I never worry about going out of style.
Stars such as Betty Grable, Ava Gardner, Bettie Page and of course Marilyn Monroe will never be forgotten, and I know my look will never subside.
The only downside is the time it takes to do my hair every morning! Rollers, backcombing and victory rolls take a while to perfect, but if I’m in a rush, I throw on a headscarf.
Q: When did you want to start modeling?
A: In all honesty I’d never considered modeling until earlier this year. Although being a pinup model is hard work with long hours and achy muscles, I would never change a thing.
Q: How can women, especially redheads, embrace their “inner pin up”?
A: You redheaded ladies need to ensure that you have your “face on,” that is, makeup and hair done at all times. I never leave the house without black eyeliner, eyelashes and red lipstick. I also make sure I always wear nautical clothes, high waist skinny jeans or skirts, or a swing dresses. The look always has to look complete.
