The Red Truth about Natural Lip Color
The Red Truth about Natural Lip Color
Redheads, did you know that a study recently confirmed that an average woman consumes 3- 6 pounds of lipstick in her lifetime? This causes many to worry because lipstick is made with many chemicals, one being lead.
Many women have been searching for a “natural” lipstick, but we’ve read that “natural” does not always mean better. Some scientists say there are irritating ingredients in natural products that are harmful to the skin and lips.
After reading this information, we were going to say “forget it!” But, we put on our hard hats and went searching for the best natural lipsticks, with the best ingredients for you!
1) We first tried Nvey Eco Sephora Lipstick- 357, a light pink mauve. When we first applied it, it felt like we were applying a crayon to our lips as the texture was hard and the smell was waxy. It was extremely thick and seemed like it would last– and it did! We decided we would buy another tube if it was the only organic lipstick left on earth, but if not, we’d opt for another lipstick that resembled one that were use to (in regards to texture, etc).
2) After Glow Cosmetics, Organic Lip Love Lipstick, COURAGE, bright classic warm red, matte crème- We really enjoyed this lipstick. It’s texture was smooth and the color selection was great; the texture was better, but it didn’t last as long.
3) Boots No7 Wild Volume Lipstick- The best we could find! Its texture, smell, colors and lasting wear was perfect. We found our Boots No7 lipstick at a local Target for $9.99!
